Terms and Conditions

Prior to commencing lessons with us, we kindly request that all of our clients acknowledge and agree to our Terms and Conditions. These terms are in place to protect both parties involved. We kindly ask that you take the time to carefully read through them before embarking on your educational journey with us.

Statement of Commitment

Attain Education upholds the rights of children and young people and is steadfast in providing a secure and nurturing service environment, aimed at safeguarding their safety and wellbeing.

To reinforce this pledge, we are unwavering in our commitment to our comprehensive child and youth risk management strategy, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every child we work with.

General Requirements

Your child/ren must be ready to learn from the start of the lesson. We have extremely strict time schedules to stick to. Many tutors have back-to-back sessions, so please respect the fact that we need to strictly follow time frames, as we don’t want to be late for a lesson with another child.

In the unlikely event that the tutor is running late, they will start the session from their arrival for the full duration, so your session is not cut short.

If there are technical difficulties (on the client’s side) fees are still payable. If there are technical difficulties on the tutor’s side, the lesson will be cancelled and no fee is payable, or the lesson is rescheduled.

Preparation for tutoring sessions

  • Before each session, allow time to check that the tech equipment (e.g. microphone, headphones, webcam) is working correctly to ensure your child is prepared and ready to start sessions promptly. We want your child to feel relaxed and excited for tutoring sessions.

  • Remember to check that your device is fully charged or plugged in!

  • Set up a quiet space for your child to have their tutoring sessions. Headphones can be useful as they enhance sound quality and minimise distractions.

Our tutoring

At Attain Education, we have a range of fantastic tutors ready to help meet your child’s learning needs. We take great care over matching your child with a tutor and ask that you provide us with as much information as possible at the enquiry stage. We love to see school report cards, assessment material or any other information you can provide about your child that may help us match them with their tutor.

Please remember that all children have different learning styles. Our tutors are highly skilled, and each use their own, individual teaching methods. The benefit of private tuition is that your child’s tutor can adapt their teaching methods to your child’s needs. If you feel that your tutor’s teaching method doesn’t suit your child’s personality, please contact us in the first instance and we will endeavour to find a replacement.  

Any opinion expressed by one of our tutors is not necessarily an expression of the opinion of Attain Education.

Clients are not permitted to make private arrangements with tutors introduced by Attain Education.

Tutoring Feedback

During the first session or two, your child’s tutor will be pre-assessing your child’s learning, to identify learning gaps/areas to work on and learning strengths. After your 2nd tutoring session, you will receive your first feedback email, which will update you on your child’s progress. You will then receive a feedback email approximately every 4 weeks.

If parents/guardians would like direct feedback (in addition to the feedback emails) from the tutor, they can join their child in the session for the last 5 minutes where the tutor can discuss tasks completed and any future plans.

Payment Information

At Attain Education, we offer tuition packages of 10 sessions, which allows for consistency for planning and progress. We send out renewal emails ahead of time, to all for continuity of tuition.

When you have 2 sessions remaining in your tutoring package, you will be sent a renewal email. Payment must be made by the due date (5 days before commencing the next package), and will ensure we hold your tutoring time slot and allow for continuity with regular tutoring sessions.

Cancellations

If you would like to pause or postpone, one months’ notice will be required.

If you do not wish to renew your tutoring package, please give as much notice as possible, as this allows us to consolidate and wrap up your child’s learning path.

In the unlikely case that your child has tutoring sessions remaining in their package, and you wish to stop tutoring, you must give one months’ notice. With notice, you will be entitled to a 50% refund for the remaining tutoring sessions. If notice is not given, you will not be able to receive a refund.

Late cancellations and no-shows

Any tutoring session that is cancelled with less than 12 hours’ notice will be charged as one session from your package. Please notify your tutor via phone call and let them know. If you cannot reach your tutor, please call Chantelle Elbadaoui (Education Lead) on +61 421 682 100 or Jason Ford (Admin) +61 413 382 259.

We appreciate that sometimes emergencies happen. First-time no-shows and late cancellations (less than 12 hours) will not be charged a fee. After that and for all future packages, you will be charged a 100% fee (a full session from your package) for tutoring sessions missed or cancelled without 12 hours’ notice.

Tutor cancellations

We try, wherever possible, not to cancel appointments but if a cancellation is needed, as much notice as possible will be given, and no charge will be made. Please note that there may be times where a short-notice cancellation may occur such as tutor illness. We will contact you as soon as possible if this is the case.

Rescheduling a session

If a time change is required on the odd occasion, please give as much notice as possible. We will try to accommodate this where possible but please note our tutors are very busy.

School Holiday Period

Tutoring sessions continue to run as per usual during the school holiday period, unless you give 1 months’ notice that you need to either pause tutoring for a set period or adjust your time slot for the school holiday period. If the latter is the case, let your tutor know so they can make arrangements to try and accommodate.

In the circumstance that your tutor requires time off during the school holidays, they will give you as much notice as possible, so that accommodations can be made.

Please note, we follow the Queensland state school calendar.

Public Holidays

Tutoring sessions will not take place on public holidays. If a tutoring session falls on a public holiday, your tutor will be in touch to reschedule for another day that week or cancel the session if this is not possible.

Tuition Terms and Conditions

We are engaged by the client only to provide tuition and are not responsible for the safety, welfare, well-being and care of minor students or for the protection of any person’s property. In the case of all students, a responsible adult must be home whilst the tutoring is taking place.

Any advice we give as a tutor is our own personal opinion. We are not liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect, special, punitive or similar damages arising out of use of our tutoring service, or any errors or omissions in the content of our materials. You, the client specifically waive any and all claims arising out of the use of this tutoring service. 

We strive to provide the best possible service. However, we will not be held accountable or responsible for the academic success or lack thereof demonstrated by the student/client. Although we will do everything in our power to help grades and skill sets improve, we can offer no guarantee of this.

Child Safety

As we work directly with children and young people, we ensure children’s safety and protection is at the  heart of our work. It is important that we protect the children who we work with under Attain Education and their families. It is also essential that we provide parents with the overarching principles that guide our approach to child protection. 

As Education Lead, Chantelle will respond efficiently and appropriately to any concerns we may have for a child’s health and wellbeing. Upon employment, all tutors are required to comply with blue card checks and requirements.

Privacy Rights

Sharing of children’s work

During the child’s lesson, we may take photos/videos to show activities that have been completed. Attain Education will follow government guidelines fully and contain minimal information about the child.

On rare occasions, such as when the child has included their name on their work, their name will be removed. All children will be referred to with the first initial of their name to protect their identity. Their age/grade may be mentioned.

Data Protection

Your personal information:

  1. will not be sold to any other party for whatever purpose. This means your information will not be accessible to any telemarketing or direct mail agencies.

  2. may be used in the course of day-to-day business such as coordination of tutors and students by Attain Education.

  3. may be used in the recovery of outstanding payments.

  4. will be kept absolutely confidential by Attain Education and will not be given to any other party except as agreed by you in the course of business terms and conditions, or if formally requested by law enforcement agencies.

  5. may be used by Attain Education for following up feedback submitted by you.

Please note, the Tuition Terms and Conditions are subject to change. We may change or remove any of the terms and conditions, or add new terms or conditions, which you will be notified about.
